Strategic Sourcing Manager, Chemical and Ingredients

Details: OverviewManages business unit spend for a defined group of chemicals and ingredients with the ultimate objective of reducing total cost of ownership.  Supplier negotiations and agreements may occur at the Global, Continent, Country and/or Local level.  A thorough understanding of how specific spends impact the business and every member of the supply chain is crucial to ensure a true total cost of ownership is calculated. Relevant spend areas must be monitored to ensure that identified cost savings are realized and reported. This individual will work closely with Industrial Management, Quality Assurance, and Operations to continuously identify new savings opportunities and to monitor spend compliance and resolve supply or service issues.Essential FunctionsActively participate, and potentially lead, global initiatives and implement global program/strategy where appropriateDevelop, implement and track strategies designed to maximize value for materials not covered by global effortsAct as internal focal point (‘single point of contact’) for questions/concerns/issues for all chemicals and ingredients purchased throughout North AmericaNegotiate and/or manage regional/global supply agreementsGather spend data within North America regarding various chemicals and ingredientsPrepare RFI’s and RFP’s, often using e-sourcing tools (SAP)Analyze bids; develop sourcing strategies; make recommendations on supplier selection; implement approved sourcing strategies.Analyze or prepare contracts; obtain all required signatures to finalize agreementsCommunicate Bunge North America procurement programs throughout organization in both written (memos, letters, presentations, etc.) and verbal (presentations, conference calls, etc.) formatsTrack Bunge North America (BNA) spend to ensure compliance to strategic procurement programsManage assigned preferred suppliers, measure/monitor performance, and track savingsAct as Procurement resource for assisting BNA plant purchasing departmentsActively participate as BNA representative on defined Bunge global sourcing initiativesDevelop expertise and maintain on-going knowledge for chemicals and ingredients used by BNA, as well as other materials as assigned by managementLead cross-divisional/cross-functional teams focused on preferred supplier selection; train employees on supplier selection processAssist in other Procurement programs and strategy sessions as required
