PURPOSE: Maintains supplier quality engineering programs, standards and improvements within the organizationPRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES: Manage suppliers and supplier relationships to maintain consistent quality and service. Co-ordinate with respective Plants & departments to resolve specific quality problems related to Suppliers within agreed timeframes. Identify and evaluate new (or alternate) materials and suppliers for new or existing products. Manage Quality Agreements and Control Plans for Suppliers and Service providers that define clear quality objectives. Develop inspection methods & sampling plans for new parts. Perform supplier audits and manage supplier corrective actions. Participate in MRB as required. Initiate, review, develop validation plans in conjunction with Plant QA for qualifying new and/or updated materials. Lead and facilitate continuous improvement efforts at suppliers. Analyze data and identify opportunities to improve supplier quality and service levels through the use of best practices such as Lean Sigma. Manage supplier requested changes in location, equipment, processes and materials. Evaluate changes to material specifications, drawing specifications, and tolerances. Develop and provide management with reporting on supplier performance. Provide Supplier training for problem resolution and continuous improvements. Participate in Risk Management related to Suppliers and Avail materials and parts. Provide Quality Engineering support for Global Supply Chain plans. Provide dispute resolution related to interpretation of specifications, defects and standards.
