Details: Core Functions The Wireless Buyer reports to the Vice President of Merchandising and is responsible for the management of all elements of a business segment as defined by Wireless carrier and product line. These responsibilities include planning, forecasting and achievement of budgeted volume and earnings targets, as well as other responsibilities listed below. Responsible for achieving both the budgeted volume of applicable carrier, as well as the gross profit per transaction, as measured by commissions (rate plan and handset mix), enhanced service/features attachment, less handset buy down. Monthly and Quarterly Negotiation of promotional offers with Carrier management. Billing out monthly any promotional expense issues agreed upon with Carrier Account Manager as well as any local program bill outs. Manage the store visit support by Carrier reps and ensure knowledge level is pulled through on all Carrier initiatives, including enhanced services and rate plan loading. Assortment transition management through the lifecycle of each handset including a 90 day product purchase plan. Support in financial forecasting for the business Provide directional feedback on performance versus plan and create value to the relationship and proactively identify potential issues and strategies. Coordinate kiosk opening calendar and support items with carrier. Responsible to lead and implement projects as designated by the Director of Wireless. Lead Manufacturer programs for carrier with Enterprise channels as assigned by the VP of Merchandising Promotional Planning 3 months out and document accordingly Provide directional feedback on performance vs. plan, execute on negotiated deals, collect on negotiated funds, and create value to the relationship Create action plans on business issues to create resolution and positive results Work with Vendors and Visual Merchandising to ensure accurate and timing promotional material Maintain excellent working relationships with all departments within corporate office, the field, and external vendors. Support internal departments with proactive communication and timely information. Regular communication with all suppliers of merchandise for Carrier.
