Details: Senior Buyer Games Summary Blockbuster is moving to the Denver area! As a part of the move, we are looking for a Senior Buyer Games. The ideal candidates will have demonstrated ability to execute and embrace the challenge to rebuild an iconic brand around a new future to support the current the business and continue to move Blockbuster forward. Increase sales and profits for the Games category by developing and continually improving the product assortment, reducing cost of goods and optimizing the price value relationship. Job Duties and Responsibilities Conduct financial analysis to evaluate the Games category and individual product performance. Determine benchmarks for product addition or deletion within category and for introduction of new product lines / subcategories. Utilize insights to develop the Games category plans that take advantage of current and projected trends to meet customer needs. Determine optimal product mix, store or DC inventory levels and replenishment cycles and quantities, and pricing strategies. Develop and implement long term buying strategies for the Games category. Work with category buyers to continually identify product opportunities. Source and develop new and differentiated product to improve store sales and profits. Align the Games category strategy and financial objectives with corporate strategies and financial goals. Utilize category analysis and modeling to develop forecasts for category, including unit sales, turns, revenue, margin, and margin percent by subcategory. Use team merchandising approach to partner with key suppliers to plan category activity. Negotiate purchasing agreements and contract deliverables as appropriate. Develop permanent and temporary merchandising and display solutions for current and new products and product lines / subcategories. Provide space planning for the Games category and participate in overall store space planning. Collaborate with Marketing group to develop promotional plans including display design and placement and field support to support temporary or new products and to drive sales of ongoing products. Responsible for entire product flow from manufacturer to store, including determining distribution method, ownership of inventory, returns process and planning, and exit strategy.
