The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the development of plastic resin commodity and sourcing strategies by identifying, qualifying, negotiating favorable terms; utilize suppliers capable of meeting cost, quality, and delivery requirements and to provide long-term forecasts of commodity prices. The Purchasing Manager also takes proactive steps to ensure uninterrupted supply and competitive prices.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:• Staff, manage and support purchasing organizations in the performance of assigned duties.• Develop and implement supply chain strategies to aggressively reduce the cost of materials, components and products, reduce material lead times and inventory requirements and associated working capital needs.• Implement and manage supplier agreements, supplier performance metrics and supplier relations.• Define strategic sourcing and inventory replenishment strategies.• Identify and drive on-going process improvement and lean initiatives. • Maintain knowledge of global market conditions and trends of components/materials. • Maintain accurate MRP data for purchased items.
