We offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.Job Specifications:The Textile Buyer is responsible for maximizing sales and profitability of the home textile product categories within the Christmas Tree Shops business. Specifically, the Buyer is responsible for developing and executing business strategies and assortment plans that support Company sales, gross margin, and turnover objectives. Essential Functions:Selecting and buying merchandise; identifying and understanding trends to respond quickly and appropriately to new opportunities. Developing and sourcing products that are exciting and unique to Christmas Tree Shops. Establishing and maintaining a professional rapport with vendors; negotiating effective purchase terms that support Company goals and deliver value our customer; monitoring and managing vendor performance. Preparing purchase orders; expediting and facilitating the flow of merchandise from vendors to Christmas Tree Shops distribution centers.Supervising and directing assigned Assistant Buyer(s); training and developing Assistant Buyer(s) to enhance merchant capabilities and to build bench strength.Providing stores with direction in merchandising presentation, space allotment, point of purchase information, signing, and product knowledge.Planning, coordinating and ensuring availability of products for advertising and major promotions.Partnering with Planner on the development of assortment plans. Visiting stores on a periodic basis to monitor execution, gather feedback, and to provide support and assistance.
